Moelfre is on the east coast of Anglesey in North Wales.  The 1:50000 O.S. map for this area is sheet 114

(Anglesey) and the grid references for the localities visited are SH512863 and SH517 867.  The BGS map sheet

to refer to for this locality is the Anglesey sheet.

The limestones exposed at Moelfre are of Carboniferous age.  The gallery shows photographs of the rocks

and fossils in the area near Moelfre harbour and at the Y Swnt headland to the north east of the harbour.
