Brachiopods Articulate/inarticulate  D Use two pairs of plastic plates to show the difference between inarticulate and articulate brachiopods. The first pair is placed together their concave sides facing each other and with a piece of cord coming out between them.  This represents inarticulate species.  The second pair are held together with a hinge and one plate has a hole in it to allow the cord/pedical to come out. Anterior margin  A P F 60min   In this activity students determine the relationship between the sharpness of the anterior fold, the area of the opening and the size of sediment that could enter. Bivalves and Brachiopods A P 5 min The students are provided with a box of about twenty Bivalves and Brachiopods.  They must separate them.
